DCI Metro was formed in June 1995 by Joseph Pellagatti and William Mihatov. The intent was to form a service-oriented hardware distribution company that would provide quality, integrity, and expertise to general contractors in the fast-paced commercial interior renovation industry.

At the beginning of 2000, DCI Metro expanded its offerings to include hollow metal doors, frames, and wood doors. This addition allowed us to offer contractors one-stop shopping for all of their door and hardware needs.

DCI Metro is a factory-direct distributor for all Allegion (formerly Ingersoll Rand) and ASSA products as well as many independent lines. Additionally, we represent 12 hollow metal factories and six wood door manufacturers.

Located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, DCI Metro maintains a 19,000 square foot warehouse stocked with hardware of all types and hollow metal doors and frames. This inventory allows DCI Metro to respond to emergency projects and last-minute changes that are commonplace in the industry we serve.

Within the warehouse is a welding shop that allows DCI Metro to make modifications to hollow metal doors and frames. This allows us to expedite materials to a job site rather than waiting on factories and their shipping. Three full-time mechanics are employed to either make modifications in the shop or be dispatched to the field for onsite repairs.  DCI Metro maintains a locksmith shop on the premises with two full-time locksmiths employed.
